I thought I would do a little quick post on a recent outfit I put together. Sorry, I haven’t really posted on here for a while I’m bad 😦
My reasons for not posting sooner was due to Ramadhan, I just never had the energy to do anything. I hope everyone who celebrated Eid had a wonderful and blessed day.
Anyway, so recently in fashion magazines and on advertisements I noticed the off the shoulder top is trending on the high street, which as usual got me thinking … Can a hijabi wear this top? Is an off the shoulder top modest? And is there a way of modestly styling an off the shoulder top?
There are so many styles available in the off the shoulder top from very feminine styles in bright colours and frills to lighter shades and simple designs. I chose the latter by selecting a dusty blue off the shoulder crop jumper as I wanted to create a tomboy look. I found the colour beige complimented the dusty blue shade and so I added a beige top underneath to create a modest look. This covered the bare shoulder which would have been visible if there was no top worn underneath the cropped jumper. I love how this looks cute and classy at the same time.
I matched this cropped jumper with a pair of blue boyfriend jeans and pale blue hijab keeping it quite casual. Then finishing the look off with a beige oversized wool coat and a pair of camel suede pointed loafers. Beige is a neutral colour so it compliments almost everything you may have in your wardrobe, therefore I recommend adding a beige handbag to your collection, which will definitely come in use. In the above off the shoulder outfit edit, you can see a beige Prada handle bag.
